The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) is developing a Regional Women in Political Participation (WPP) Learning Manual for the Consortium Regional WPP Academy that will enhance the participation of women in politics and decision making and build awareness and strengthening the capacity to formulate and advocate demands for women’s political participation. The manual will be important in capacity building on women engagement in decision making and political agenda. The learning manual will use different modules to address pertinent issues that will enhance the Inclusion of Women in Political Participation in Africa, for instance, Introduction to Politics and women engagement, clearly defining the role of women in politics and lesson learning. It will also provide a platform for capacity enhancement on various skills including; gender responsive budgeting, resource mobilization, communication, public relations and branding, manifesto building, stakeholder mapping to advance women in politics participation, International standards and legal frameworks for women in politics – Maputo Protocol , CEDAW, BPfA and SDGs. The Academy will also be vital for mentorship.
